Chapter 4: Today, Kitty Has Fish

Zhou Mingyu’s friend, Zheng Ze, was of demon and dragon descent, and was a water-element sword cultivator. The two were from the same hometown. When they found out that they both were accepted to the same university, they decided to travel together.

(T/N: He’s not exactly dragon, but ‘jiaolong’, which is kind of like a water dragon.)

Qi Xiaohan controlled the cart, rolling on the road. She thought to herself that this school was indeed vast. Even if she followed the route sent in the group chat, it was complicated.

The two people accompanying the cat gradually became confused as well.

After all, on the floating islands above, school buildings could be seen, meaning that the map was three-dimensional. The somewhat directionally challenged kitty walked for a short stretch before cursing that this was a hellish-level challenge.

Qi Xiaohan collapsed her ears, her paws kneading the suitcase below her. Suddenly, the kitty sensed a shift in atmospheric pressure.

Zheng Ze was still concentrating on differentiating between the school buildings while Zhou Mingyu had long collapsed on the kitty’s luggage cart, tired. The white kitty meowed, whining, and also laid down on her suitcase. She rolled over to expose her snow-white, furry underbelly and was motionless.

Feeling that something was off, Zheng Ze furrowed his brows.

He received another notice from the school. There were supposed to be second-year students patrolling the path to ensure the safety of the newcomers, but throughout their entire journey, they had not encountered anyone.

Besides, he felt that the surroundings were strange, but he couldn’t quite identify why it felt so.

All of a sudden, the cat who had been lazily lying on the suitcase stood up, gazing around, on alert. She arched her back, her fur bristling, and threateningly hissed.

Flames appeared in the air, revolving around the white cat, rising and falling.

Zheng Ze’s intuition was correct. He flipped his palm over, and the handle of an ice sword appeared. With vigilance, he stared around them, not discovering anything out of the ordinary.

At this moment, the kitty shrilly screeched and jumped, pushing off of the suitcase. The cat’s claw striked at an empty space, her paw swathed in flickering red flames.

It was unknown what she hit. The space emitted sizzling sounds, and immediately, a sharp aroma spread.

The white kitty’s nose moved, sniffing, and her green eyes shined.

The smell of cooked fish!

Such a familiar and mouthwatering smell!

Again, the cat struck with her paw. She opened her mouth to reveal her teeth and bit down on the thing in the air.

It emitted a distressed scream. The flames must have burnt it badly, and it was angered even more.

The only apparent effect was the distortion of the air, as if their normal dimension was warping with another dimension, and the sight was exceptionally abnormal. A rippling mass violently dashed towards Qi Xiaohan, attacking her, posing a serious danger.

In Zhou Mingyu’s palm, a small doll-like object appeared. Manipulating it with a grim expression, the attacking mass came to a halt, stabilizing for a moment. But almost immediately after, the fluctuations increased.

During that moment, the cat had already used her hind leg to push off and in a flash, attacked again. She threw herself at the mass and attached onto it, hitting the mass with a flurry of rapid attacks using her claws, biting it in-between. The fighting was very vicious, with the fierce clawing and biting.

In pain, the mass shook from side to side and emitted resentful screams, trying to throw the cat off.

However, the cat would not release its bite and thoroughly latched onto the mass, releasing flames every once in a while.

What the fire was exactly, was unknown. The temperature was extremely high, and no matter how high the creature’s cultivation was, the fire was inextinguishable.

Qi Xiaohan hung on the creature’s body, a small fireball forming around her paw. Forcefully, she pressed it into its head.

The fire of the fireball was similar to viscous liquid, thickly flowing. The purple flames surrounding the fireball were continuously flickering.

The white kitty firmly pressed down on the creature’s head. With this, a loud ‘bang’ was heard, and the fireball exploded. The leftover flames warped the air, so hot and drying that human skin could crack and split open.

Zheng Ze could be considered a half-aquatic being, so this was an extremely painful ordeal for him. He had executed several sword techniques, but it had no effect on the creature, other than making it more aggravated. Only the cat’s fireball was able to truly damage the creature. In the end, Zheng Ze and Zhou Mingyu could only support Qi Xiaohan off to the side.

With the explosion of the fireball, the creature was unable to maintain its invisibility and was forced to show its true appearance.

Qi Xiaohan’s claws gripped its head and stood there in an imposing manner, aggressively meowing. Her tail was raised straight up.

After she saw the creature’s true form, the kitty paused, amazed at the transformation. She had been given a pleasant surprise.

It was a fish, a huge fish!

The creature was around three meters tall, and its tail was thick and firm. With one glance, she could tell that the flesh would be savory and delicious.

The downside was that the top half of the creature was human. It was such a pity that it wasn’t suitable for eating.

Qi Xiaohan made a prompt decision; she formed another large fireball and threateningly pressed it to the fish’s head, not allowing it to randomly move around. Noticing that the fish was nearing death because of the previous fireball, she happily yelled at Zheng Ze:

“Zheng Ze, hurry up! Help me temporarily freeze the fish’s tail! I’ll store it in our dormitory’s freezer! !”

Zheng Ze: …

Zheng Ze held his sword and glanced at the kitty that was standing on the mermaid. He opened his mouth and had no choice but to close it again. Silently, he lifted his hand and started to freeze the fish tail.

He had reached an understanding. Previously, he was unaware that the kitty would be able to fight like this. No wonder she didn’t need to take the exam.

This cat was a rightful exception to the admission rules! !

Zhou Mingyu was not upset to have been beaten by this cat.

In its final moments, the mermaid heard that it would be frozen and became so angered that it did not even have the strength to tremble, especially because this cat looked down on its human half. Immediately, its pair of blue-colored eyes, as vivid as the sea, became moist. Extremely humiliated, it closed its eyes and appeared as a dead fish, not bothering to care anymore.

Qi Xiaohan rubbed the blood stains on her paws. She had received an abundant harvest and was just about to drag the fish tail onto her luggage cart,

When second-year students who sensed the explosion of the fireball arrived, in time to hear Qi Xiaohan’s last few words.

“Wait, stop right there!”

Whew, my first time translating a “fight” scene… Sorry if it was a bit underwhelming.
