Lu Sha approached the group of human first-years with a large smile. When she witnessed the kitty rejecting their touch, Lu Sha froze before smiling again:

“Are you the Sword Sect first-years? Your seniors will be gone for a while and want you to stay here until they come back. This is Qi Xiaohan, a first-year studying Spirit Control. In the future, you might have the same classes, so you should introduce yourselves.”

The kitty tilted her head, thinking. Slowly, she raised a paw:

“Then, let’s shake paws?”

Sword Sect first-years: “…let’s shake.”

One of them reached out a hand and shook the kitty’s paw up and down.

At the office desk, Lu Sha separated the keys and campus cards. With a wave of her hand, several flashes of light materialized and the cards magically appeared in the hands of the first-years.

“Is anyone hungry? We have some food here. It’s almost noon already, so you can either help yourselves to some snacks here or wait for your seniors to come home and bring you out to the dining hall. They are currently helping out with the explosion disaster and might be late.”

Before, the Sword Sect first-years received a notice asking them to wait at the Cat Clan’s building and to behave politely. When they heard Lu Sha’s offer, they declined, “We don’t want to impose on senior sister. Don’t worry about us, there’s no need to give us food.”

Lu Sha: “Don’t be so stiff. Besides, all the snacks were bought after pooling everyone’s money together. You guys also have a portion.”

As she spoke, Lu Sha slid open a door beside the bookcase. The inside was completely filled with snacks, shocking all the first-years inside the room.

“If you want anything, help yourselves. The first-years who came to report before you also took some.”

Hesitantly, one of the humans reached inside and took out a bag of potato chips. The others followed in his lead, each taking a snack.

Before long, the little kitty was the only one who hadn’t taken a snack. Lu Sha lowered her head and smiled at her junior sister: “Xiaohan, do you want to come with me to the dining hall later?”

Facing such a small and fluffy kitty, Lu Sha had endless patience.

Lion cubs were certainly larger than this cute and adorable little kitty.

Qi Xiaohan shook her head: “I brought food with me. My human told me to hurry up and eat it. Otherwise, it might spoil. She also told me that the dorms would have a refrigerator, so I should also leave a portion of the food in there.”

Lu Sha couldn’t help but ask, “Your family’s human? You were a pet raised by humans before coming here?”

Naturally, Lu Sha would be curious because she had never been raised by humans. Most of her classmates were also never raised by humans, whether they were part of an influential family or a gifted, large cat that dominated most other felines. Extremely talented cats that were once raised by humans, like Qi Xiaohan, were rarely seen.

The white kitty nodded her head and meowed. Her tail swayed from side to side.

“What kind of food did you bring that requires you to refrigerate it?” asked a Sword Sect first-year.

The kitty hesitated before hopping off the chair and sprinting outside the room. She opened the luggage on the very top of the luggage cart and showed her classmates.

“My family packed me hotpot base, meatballs, veggies, and rolls of meat. I was planning to share the hotpot with my roommates for the first meal.”

Inside the office, several humans and one female lion stared at the fully packed suitcase, their eyes huge.

The little kitty continued to paw through the suitcase. She pulled out a bag of dried beef jerky with her teeth. Then, she dragged the bag and set it in front of the stunned onlookers before meowing:

“Beef jerky can be consumed immediately without preparation and is super, super delicious. Do you guys want some?”

Everyone: “ …”

A few moments later, all the people in the office sat in a circle and ate beef jerky. Lu Sha ran her fingers through the kitty’s fur: “Your family is really good to you. They even packed you lots of food.”

This little kitty had the most luggage out of all the first-years she had seen recently.

Most of the students intended to buy new items when they came over to live on campus. However, the less affluent students who could not afford to replace everything weren’t able to bring this much. Of course, there were some parents who didn’t even think this far at all. Families like this little kitty’s were hard to come by.

Lu Sha recalled an instance when she was mingling in ordinary human society. The young students who were first attending university dragged along many large and small bags, not unlike Qi Xiaohan.

As the kitty ate, a few crumbs were stuck to her fur and Lu Sha brushed them off.

It was Lu Sha’s turn to patrol the school grounds due to the disaster, but Lang Chen had not returned yet. She couldn’t just leave, especially because someone must be on duty at the office at all times. There were many first-years here, and it would be irresponsible of her to abandon them. Who knows where they would wander off to. If Lang Chen still did not return by lunch, she would have to bring the first-years to the dining hall.

But, if she then went to report to the Department of Medicine, she would be marked late.

Well, it wasn’t a big deal. Students from the Cat Clan were always late, so the people taking attendance would already be accustomed to their bad habits.

Anyways, she had enough attendance points.

After thinking it over, Lu Sha righteously sat back down, unmoving like a mountain.

Finally, the office door was pushed open and Lang Chen entered. When he saw the crowd of people inside, he was a bit surprised before walking over.

“You can go now, I’ll be on duty here.”

Lu Sha had been waiting for him for a while. As he spoke, she quickly stood up, straightening her clothes and fixing her hair before sprinting out the door.

Lang Chen watched the kitty gnaw on the beef jerky. She was crouching on the chair, chomping away at a piece that was larger than her head.

The beef jerky was handmade by Qi Ning. The bag used to store it was large, so she did not need to cut the jerky into smaller pieces.

Watching the little kitty trying to chew such a large piece of beef jerky made Lang Chen smile. The scene was just too adorable and funny.

The white kitty sensed Lang Chen staring at her and mumbled a meow at him:

“Senior brother, you want some?”

The kitty used her claw to drag the bag of beef jerky over.

Lang Chen did not reach for the bag. Instead, he pulled at the large piece hanging out of the kitty’s mouth and wiggled it from side to side.

The kitty was still fiercely biting the jerky, so when he pulled at it, she also wobbled from side to side.

Qi Xiaohan: ?

Lang Chen stabilized her by pressing down on her head and snatched away the large piece of beef jerky. Calmly, his fingers gracefully ripped the piece into smaller pieces before placing them all next to the white kitty’s paws.

Qi Xiaohan hesitated for a moment. She lowered her head and nibbled at one of the small pieces. Then, she looked back up at Lang Chen.

Lang Chen also took a piece and tried it. After, he took out a handkerchief from a bag and wiped his fingers.

“Thank you. The taste is pretty good.”

When he finished cleaning his fingers, Lang Chen sat in the same seat that Lu Sha was in and stared at the Sword Sect first-years.

The first-years sat upright. They had subconsciously placed the snacks down and snuck a glance at the upperclassman who had just entered.

He exuded a different vibe from senior sister Lu Sha. When this senior brother came inside, they sensed that he was not as easygoing. His face was serious and not a hair was out of place. Even that golden earring seemed to reflect a cold and unfeeling light. The table of first-years were scared to death.

On such a hot and humid day, not a button was unbuttoned on his uniform. Was this senior brother able to freeze himself? Did his cold aura actually cool him?

Pulling open a drawer, Lang Chen removed a chain of keys. He looked at the stiff first-years and coldly asked, “Why are you guys not eating anymore?”

“No, no, no, we’re not hungry.”

The first-years all replied in unison.

Lang Chen nodded and stopped talking, hinting that they should continue doing whatever they wanted.

He reached out his hand and patted the kitty’s head:

“Eat up. Ah Tan will come over shortly.”

Lang Chen glanced towards the Sword Sect first-years and slightly nodded: “Please wait for a moment, there is still a first-year from the Cat Clan who has not reported yet. When they come back, I will take you all to the dining hall. Later, other upperclassmen will come over and help you bring your luggage to the dorms.”

The first-years nodded immediately.

Before long, the second-years were relieved of their patrol duty. A horde of sword cultivator second-years cheerfully opened the door. They gazed through the room and were met with Lang Chen’s cold eyes.

Second-years: “…”

The second-years immediately stopped smiling and politely greeted, “Hello President. We are here to escort the Sword Sect first-years back.”

The first-years were not able to sit still any longer under the scrutiny of the scary senior brother. The atmosphere inside the room was serious, like they were attending an important meeting.

The group of first-years left with their upperclassmen, leaving the white kitty behind. Sitting on the chair, she meowed at them and waved her tail.

Suddenly, a black and white colored cat entered the office with Fire Spirit students of different species trailing behind her. The office was quickly filled again.

“President, the spirits have been taken care of and the roads on campus are now safe to travel on. The area near the destroyed floating tower still needs some time before it can be accessible. The estimated time it will open again is around 5 o’clock.”

The black and white cat meowed their report.

Lang Chen nodded and patted the black and white kitty’s head.

Standing behind the black and white cat was a demon who was staring at the little white kitty. After observing her for a while, he said:

“Are you junior sister Xiaohan? Your senior brother Cheng Lin is recovering in the infirmary. I was reassigned to look after you temporarily. I’ll bring you to your dorm later.”

The white kitty meowed. She jumped off the chair and threw away her trash before padding over to her demon senior brother.

The demon reached out his hand to scoop her up. He rubbed her head and bid Lang Chen goodbye. When he was just about to leave, he was abruptly stopped.

“Yan Chong, this little kitty’s luggage is inside the unused conference room. Remember to bring it with you.”

Yan Chong did not expect for the Vice President to remind him of a trivial thing and paused in surprise. He then grunted and walked out with the kitty in his arms.

When he opened the door to the unused room, Yan Chong saw two huge suitcases and a large bag stacked on top of a luggage cart, plus a cat bed hanging from the handle. His eyes grew wide and he glanced down at the little white cat.

The white kitty excitedly lifted a paw and pointed it at the luggage cart. She meowed towards her senior brother:

“Senior brother, this is my luggage.”

Senior brother Yan Chong: …

Young cats these days are excessive.

Extremely excessive!
